independent mobility: episode √2

After missing the pilot we meet our intrepid adventurer continuing his quest for emancipation from the restrictive family environment he lives in. Having failed dismally at moving out of home, Caleb tries another avenue for approaching his goal… Well pending a few variables I could have the penultimate piece of my plan for independance. In a similar fashion to the bungled house moving attempt, earlier this week I received a forward of an email advertising the sale of a well loved, soon to be [… missing]

hows this?

Apparently I’m not posting frequently enough for some people who read this blog. So to keep them happy I have whipped up this in haste.

out of the loop

I have this brilliant idea for a website (I’m not entirely sure if its original). Its primary purpose is to remove the ackwardness of asking someone how their boyfriend or girlfriend is going only to be promptly told they broke up 3 months ago, thus essentially moving gossip into the 21st century. Its secondary purpose would be to help singles determine who else is single, so they don’t waste time trying to spade someone who is already spoken for....

updatage

Okay, I fiddled with the dates. They are now always gonna be GMT+10. Unfortunately they were GMT-8, so now all the dates on the previous blog entries are screwed. I’m not gonna fix them, you can do the maths - add 18 hours and you should be close. In the effort of procastination I registered the domain: calebbrown.id.au. There is nothing there at the moment, just an email address (I now have 8), but eventually it will become the basis for a newer, more superiour blogging system, with even more information about your’s truely....

aglets and eyelets

After my post the other day about my trendy new pens. I began wondering what other websites there are out there for the mundane and trivial items in this world. So I decided to do a quick google search for shoelaces. Oh the weird things people write about. The first result is a page written by a guy who lives in Melbourne Australia, called Ian, who, among other things, has developed his own technique for tieing shoelaces....

i want a watercooler

I just realised what makes being at university and school so much better than working mostly fulltime - its the variety to experiences we can talk about. You see when your at work most of your life, you really have very little life outside of work. Sure you might do stuff in the evenings, or on the weekends. But by 11am on monday morning you’ve told your immediate colleagues what happened on the weekend, with each evening requiring a 5 minute recap the following morning....

I bought two of these today. You know humanity has come a long way when you can lookup the pens you buy on the internet.

baby got baptism

A slight delay in the proceedings. I was gonna write a large entry about this site. But after trying to find some background information I decided enough commentary had been given on this site in journals, forums and blogs all over the net and it didn’t need any more from me. Not only that but the site appears to be a joke, with only circumstancial connections to anything in meatspace (for example, all but one email address on the site is a freebe)....

obese or malnourished?

<rant> For the last few weeks I’ve been thinking on and off about the problem of obesity in the western world (or as my highschool geography teacher wanted us to use: the north). It seems that we are having lots of trouble with fat. There are loads of statistics that show an increase in the number of obese people. A quick google search will turn up many sources. Not only that, but there are so many diets, diet foods and other heavily marketed health foods an outsider could easily be mistaken into thinking we are having a lot of trouble just staying skinny....
