On saturday night somehow we got from talking about noir films to talking about nukes. The conversation had reminded me of something I had read/heard a little while ago about how, some years ago, after the cold war had ended between Russia and the USA. Basically the Russians were minutes away from launching a nuclear strike against America because they thought a missile, launched by the USA from a neighbouring army base was heading for them....
Through some weird twists and turns I stumpled upon this site last night. In particular one file on the site caught my attention. Being an avid Arnold Schwarzenegger fan I found the articles relevancy, despite its age of more than 13 years, rather suprising. Arnold is certainly well on his way to fulfilling the vision of this article and I look forward to seeing if America will make allowances for him to further his political career beyond the limit he has already obtained....
After close to five years, I no longer have my CSE account. No more cbro903 email address and no more 200Mb disk quota. And no more cheap1 web hosting, which means my logo is now defunct. I no longer have a convenient space on the internet where I can just upload stuff to - not that I have anything to put up except a few ramblings here and there. So now the hunt is on....
Okay, I think I have enough email addresses now. While some people in the world are yet to obtain their first, I just created my 10th active email account. While this number is about to drop when my uni accounts expire, I own a domain name so I have the capacity to create an infinite number of email accounts. Two of the accounts are work related, two of the accounts are uni related....
Stumbled across this. For all you people who spend hours folding clothes, this could free up a lot of your time.
Well it has been about a week since I last posted here so I think its time to keep the posts comming. The last week has been rather eventful as far as it goes with the employment of a uni friend at work by sheer conicidence, the purchase of a car, the winning of our soccer grand final, and the first work being done on my serverly overdue thesis presentation (not the all important report) in a significant number of weeks....
The official winner to the Reload and Win competition is: Phillip Brown and of_flawed Congratulations. of_flawed referred Phillip to the site, who was the one thousandth visitor. So thanks to unemployment 3 Cokes will be distributed. Thanks to all who participated. And thanks to www.statcounter.com for providing the free statistics that let me run this competition. Stay tuned for more insightful commentary.
If you haven’t noticed by now, I have a counter at the bottom of my weblog. At the moment of writing it sits at 310 (thanks mostly to sofala and of_flawed), but I think that it could be much bigger. So to encourage senseless reloading I’m gonna start a competition. The one thousandth visitor1 of the site shall recieve a fantastic prize. It will be at least a single 1.25L bottle of Coke....
This was too good to pass up. Sometimes when you use google to search for something particular you often stumble upon little gems. While hunting down a particular simpsons episode I stumbled across this book being sold on amazon. Seriously there are some weird people out there. To write a serious book about an area that borders on fiction, a topic that is so driven by paranoia, conspiracies and the delusional, is just strange, and almost frivolous....
